first investigation ( open to all )
Even if it was his first day of prison - the thought of that running through his head annoyed him considering the fact that he was a detective that hadn't done anything wrong - it wasn't like him to just sit around while he still had a case to solve. That was just like him. So, after his ten minutes were up on his time, he realized that he needed to step up his game and gather even more information, and possibly find a way to contact other people as well.
One thing was for certain, though; he would have to apologize to Ran about ending up in here and souring his reputation as the famous Heisei Holmes, the Detective of the West. And to his parents, too; one, his father, a mystery novelist who wrote the all too famous Night Baron series and two, his mother. Though he would only write one letter to conserve paper and CP. He knew he wasn't all that lucky -- after all, being a detective meant that he ran into dead bodies almost every single day and dealt with murder quite often.
But this was different. He had a collar around his neck that could kill him at any moment, and honestly, he felt as if that should be illegal; he wasn't on death row, after all, and he hadn't done anything that was worth being killed for, unless investigating the prison was something that was considered as a threat. If that was the case, then that means there was a huge secret that this prison was keeping, and he had to get to the bottom of it. He was a detective, after all.
And the fact that there were fellow detectives here helped, though he would definitely have to be cautious in gathering information, especially in front of the many cameras around the prison.
His battle plan for the day was to meet up with Shotaro first at their designated place of meeting, the lounge, before heading anywhere else. But he was definitely going to be headed towards the library to do some avid research afterwards.
There's only one truth, and I'm going to find it.
( ooc: open to both prose or actionspam, i'll match! )
