When she reached out to touch him, Shotaro reached up and held onto her arm. "Sorry..." he muttered around his tears. He swallowed hard. He picked his head up at looked at her briefly before losing his nerve and looking away again. "I'll be ok in a minute." His face was red and his eyes bloodshot. "Thanks, though." He tried a wry smile but it was fleeting.
