A Day In The Life [OTA]

Throughout the day of January 9:

Philip can be found in the library for the morning shift. As usual, he has his nose in a book as he checks books out and carts returns back to their shelves. And he's still in the library after his shift ends because he's found something fun to read. He... continues to be in the library for the rest of the day, falling asleep at a table and skipping his cafeteria shift that evening. If anyone cares to go check on him, he looks like hell. Sepsis is a bitch.

Hina Izumi spends a good portion of the day, when she's not working in the laundry or the lounge, exploring whatever areas of the prison she's allowed in. At one point she can be found sneaking through a doorway that leads to G-Block.

Akira Nijino is also wandering around. What better way to spend his first day in the slammer than learning where everything is? Even if he plans to be dead by the time the week is out, he may as well familiarize himself with the place in the meantime. He also takes the opportunity to lurk in random corners and play his harmonica.

Chaplin Sukegawa has her laundry and janitorial shifts, after which she heads to the lounge to take a load off. Wherever you are in the prison, though, she just might show up and invade your personal space. Especially if you look like you could use a hug.

Kousei Kougami, as usual, is manning his cake cart in the courtyard. Do you want cake? Of course you do. Cake is also available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner thanks to his working in the cafeteria.

[ Sometime in the afternoon Eiji had a break from work, so he decided to spend that time out in the courtyard. He had managed to purchase a hoodie for himself the previous day as well, so at the very least he could enjoy being outside without being too cold. As he sat on a nearby bench it was impossible to not notice the delicious smell coming from Kougami's cake cart, and it didn't take long before he caved and had to go check it out. ]

Did you make all of these yourself? They look really good!

[ Kougami is wearing a business suit, because why would he ever wear anything else?

He grins when Eiji approaches the cart. ]

That I did! Eiji Hino-kun, wasn't it?

[ He managed to take his eyes away from the confections long enough to stare up at the man. ]

Eh? How did you know my name?

[tanjoubi]

I've seen you around, both online and off. You're an interesting fellow, Eiji-kun.

Here. Would you like some cake? [ He offers a slice of some elaborately-iced black forest cake. ]

[yokubo]

I am? [ He looked a bit baffled. ]

Um, sure. How much is it?

[tanjoubi]

[ Kougami laughs. ]

Very savvy, very savvy. Five hundred CP.

[yokubo]

Is something funny?

[ He looked behind his back, almost expecting there to be something totally hilarious going on. There wasn't, though. Maybe he just liked laughing... or making money.

Eiji gave an awkward laugh of his own before handing his CP card over. ]

Sorry, what was your name again?

[tanjoubi]

[ He swipes the card and hands it back. ]

Call me Kougami. President Kougami.

So what are you in for, Eiji-kun?

[yokubo]

President Kougami-san? Um, what are you the president of?

[ He put the card back in his pocket and picked up the cake, poking at it with a fork. ]

I was helping someone out who was in danger, but he ended up here too.

[tanjoubi]

[ He pulls a business card from his pocket and hands it over. "The Kougami Foundation, revolutionizing biotechnology since 2000," it reads. ]

Very magnanimous of you. That sort of behavior has been known to backfire.

[yokubo]

[ Eiji looked impressed, even if he didn't know just what biotechnology was. It sounded pretty fancy. The subject of Ankh brought him back down to reality pretty quick. ]

I would have regretted it if I hadn't done anything.

[tanjoubi]

Then it's good that you followed your instincts.

[yokubo]

[ He nodded, finally deciding to try a bite of the cake. He almost looked surprised before grinning. ]

President Kougami-san! I think this might be the best cake I've ever had!

[tanjoubi]

Wonderful! [ He laughs. HE KNOWS IT'S GREAT. ] And how large is your sample size prior to this?

[yokubo]

Not super big, but I've traveled a lot so I've had cake from different places before!
