Family breakfast!
Shingo wanted to circle the wagons, so to speak, after that kind of thing. He wanted to see that the people he cared about were okay. Sure he'd heard from each of them, but seeing them and seeing a message from them were two different things.
Sure, he gave Eiji a hard time most times. And once upon a time, he may have actually been actively trying to push him away. But he was too dumb to realize it, and all the better, he supposed. Just as he had hoped, ditching the bleached hair had helped him to see himself differently. And the world around him, as well. He wasn't sure if he was ready, or if it was safe for him to ditch Ankh completely, but there was definitely things worth salvaging in his old life.
And as for breakfast, he actually got real food. And true to his word, he got as much bacon as he could. Even if he got mouthy with whoever was dishing it out that day to try and get his way. He was no longer subsisting on frozen treats. Well, if that cereal choice was any indication, his tastes hadn't matured any. Baby steps.

Or so she'd thought at first. After seeing Rei and Mitsuki unveil their true colors... What could she believe anymore?
Hina took a seat beside Shingo. She had a tray of food, and sure, she was hungry, but she didn't start eating right away.

He didn't want to think about it for now. Staying positive for everyone was more important than how he felt.
"Ankh! Hina-chan!" He waved from across the cafeteria, probably looking like a fool as usual.

Fortunately, Eiji saved him from needing to find something to say to his sister. "Oi! You're late!" He lifted his arm off Hina's shoulders and waved vaguely at him. He settled it back down in his lap.
