battle royale event!

The inmates are taken down to the arena by the guards, they're told absolutely nothing about what this will be like at all. The only indication they get is what the Warden mentioned before. They're all shoved into a room, told to wait until the audience is good and ready for them, and expected to hang out until that time. In that room they will be able to hear voices out in the arena calling out to the crowd, the audience in an uproar and already chanting for blood.

But wait.... Second isn't around, just who is hosting it this time?

After about twenty minutes of waiting they're separated into three groups. Group one is brought to the arena first, followed by the second and third groups. Of course once they arrive the group will be split yet again and each person will have to go down a tunnel by themselves. As the person walks through the tunnel they'll hear the roar of the crowd and someone talking.

"Welcome welcome one and all~!"

It's the Warden. It seems like she personally wants to host this one. She still doesn't want her face to be seen so she's taken other measures for that. If an inmate looks around to spot the Warden, they'll see that she's using a mechanical bird which is able to fly around and project her voice.

"Yes it's that time again, aren't you all excited? This time around I have a very special event for everyone here. A Battle Royale! The prisoners here are expected to partake in an epic fight. Oh but don't worry, any deaths that you see here are simply all for show everyone! That's right, it's a battle to the death and one person from each group will go home with 2 million Cast Points!"

The group cheers at that, and by this time the inmate would have exited that tunnel. The inmate will leave and see a vast forest in front of them. Simple enough, they've made enough room for a proper battle field. There are cameras all around so the audience can see them better, so there will be lots of those mechanical birds around! While the forest looks huge, it really isn't. This is a prison, they don't have room to make it gigantic! Everyone will surely find each other eventually.

The inmate will also see a weapon to their left, on a pedestal. Their weapons are all random and can range from a simple bat to an actual gun. Oh wait there's one more thing-

"Good luck out there, everyone! And I warn you, there are traps all around this place as well. If someone doesn't kill you then you will definitely be sucked in by one of the traps! Also- before I forget... there's a special reason we're having this event here today. Yes that's right, none other than Mister Schnee himself is here and is sponsoring this! Let's all give a warm welcome to him and salute this man and the Schnee company for allowing this event to happen!"

It's time to begin the Battle Royale.

OOC: As promised the Battle Royale is about to begin. As stated, the rules are pretty simple. There are three groups and if you haven't already plotted out how you want your characters to meet up with other certain ones then don't worry, it's pretty much a free for all anyways. Comment to your respected group down below and be prepared to battle it out! People are allowed and encouraged to threadjack and jump in between threads. Why? Because anything can happen in this arena.

Basically, if you haven't determined beforehand who will win in the thread or how they'll die, then it's encouraged that you use the random number generator in order to come up with an outcome. Let's say if: Character A is 1 and Character B is 2. Roll a 2? Character B will win. How will they win? 1 is by murder and 2 is by the traps, etc etc.

Either way, within each groups they'll run into one another, the characters will die, and it will keep going until only one is left. If we haven't been able to thread that out all the way then I will look at the remaining characters, rng them, and then determine a winner from that. I wouldn't want to get to that point though, so please go on ahead and kill one another and thread it out!!

Oh and the weapon they get at random is the player's choice as well.

[ She'd already realized that she could manage to fend people off, sure. She was skilled enough in combat that she knew how to do that. There was some blood on her jumpsuit, but she hadn't actually killed anyone.

Someone calling out to her was more than unexpected. It made her look around her instead of toward the voice at first, almost expecting it to be some kind of ambush. When no one jumped out at her, she directed her attention more toward the source of the voice. Her hand was shaky at this point, even if her grip was firm as she drew the sword up into a defensive position. ]

The same thing everyone else is. Why did you call out?

[He saw her weapon, and more importantly, the blood on her jumpsuit. He chose to keep his distance, lifting the crossbow up just in case she came running. He had no idea how to use the thing, but she didn't need to know that. He stood up straighter, looking as confident as he possibly could.

Because he had let his emotions get the better of him.]

Because I wanted to give you a fair warning. If you don't take it and plan to fight dirty, I'll kill you before you can move.

[whiteas]

I'm not killing anyone, but I'll definitely defend myself if you fire that.

[ That probably would've held more weight if she didn't have blood on her but.. it was true. She didn't kill him.

She actually seems to know what she's doing, judging by the stance she takes. ]

You won't be able to get close enough to do anything before I shoot. Do you know how fast these things travel? Very fast.

[That was right, wasn't it?]

What's your name and what did you do?

[whiteas]

[ Stating her name was not comfortable for her at all right now. Not after that announcement about their sponsor. The discomfort in her face was completely clear after he asked for her name, but she answered anyway. ]

Weiss Schnee. I was framed for kidnapping a member of my own family's company by a group of radicals who've been harassing my family since I was born. My only crime is trusting the wrong people.

[dacnomania]

[He narrowed his eyes, regarding her quietly. Why did that name sound so familiar? She didn't look familiar, and he was sure he'd remember her if he met her before. Weiss was such a weird name, not that he could talk, but--

Schnee? Oh. Oh.]

Don't move.

[He lowered the crossbow, removing the bolt after some struggle.]

My name's Eren. Why would your family trust someone else's word over your own?

[whiteas]

Whether my family believes I did it or not, I still made the mistake of thinking I made friends with the people who framed me.

[ Weiss takes a deep breath. ]

If my father's in the audience, it probably means that if I win he'll do what's necessary to get me out of here. He could probably afford to fund this prison for decades without it making a dent. I tried to kill someone earlier thinking this was my way out, but I stopped.

[ She might not be moving, but she doesn't know if she can trust Eren or not so she's not lowering her sword yet. ]

I didn't come into this place a criminal and I'm not going to leave this place as one.

[dacnomania]

So fucking what?!

[Part of Eren is disgusted with that kind of attitude, but he still feels unsatisfied by the explanation given. Shouldn't her father be working on a way to get her out of here, instead of watching like it's just a show to pass the time?]

Why doesn't he just fund you a way out of here in the first place? Why do you have to prove yourself in order to get that kind of reward? He's your family. If he has that kind of power, if would have been no problem for him to have you let off with a lighter sentence to begin with. If you can't kill anyone, you don't stand a chance out here.

[What kind of parent would rather watch their child die for making a stupid mistake like that? Eren waves the bolt around haphazardly, forgetting what he was doing in the first place.]

[whiteas]

Just because you don't understand it doesn't make it not true.

[ Weiss doesn't quite understand it either. She wants so badly for her father to come save her, but she knows by the scar over her eye that it's her responsibility to save herself. That had been one of his tests for her and it had permanently scarred her face, but she'd gotten through it. ]

You have no idea how to use that, do you?

[ She might not be an expert at bows, but even she can tell with Eren. ]

[dacnomania]

And just because you understand it doesn't make it any less idiotic!

[He doesn't get it at all, but he's learned to trust his anger and this...this pisses him all kinds of off. He shoots her a glare, finally subsiding in his flailing about.]

I know what I'm doing. You're the one who's clueless.

I believe your story, but I still want you to prove something. If you mean it, it shouldn't be a problem, but if you're lying...then we'll find out anyway.

[With one sharp swipe, he embeds the bolt into his left palm, dragging a line across and shaking off the resulting blood. He rubs the rest on his jumpsuit, and tosses the bolt to her, expression grim.]

Now you do it. Doesn't have to be your hand. You just have to prove it.

[whiteas]

[ Weiss catches it, but tosses it back to him with an unamused expression. ]

Really, because I don't think I need to do anything with that whether you point that at me or not! I barely met you, I am not making a blood pact with you. That's incredibly unsanitary.

[ Not that getting other peoples blood on you is incredibly sanitary, but she doesn't know if Eren has diseases or not. Weiss Schnee, keeping it real even in a battle royale. ]

[dacnomania]

[He catches it effortlessly. Actually putting it back in the crossbow is another story. But he grins to himself.]

Not another one.

[Just...give him a second, Weiss. Pull the cable-thingy back and--no. Which side do the bolts go in again? He looks back at her, almost pleading.]

You wouldn't happen to be an expert crossbow shooter, would you?

[whiteas]

[ That comment was lost on Weiss, but she was in a bad enough mood from this whole situation that she didn't particularly care to question it.

Weiss shakes her head at the question though. ]

If you need help with swords I can do that and I can manage to aim a long bow well enough, but crossbows? Not really.

[dacnomania]

Oh. Shit.

[After pulling the string a few times, his grip slipping, he finally growled in frustration and brandished the bolt instead.]

Whatever. What are you going to do now?

[whiteas]

I don't plan on losing that easily. I couldn't kill the first person I tried to, but I wasn't the loser in that fight.

[ Weiss looks like she's trying not to grit her teeth, but she doesn't really want to talk about Adam right now. ]

Only one of us can win, so either we work together or we find out who can use their weapon more effectively.

[dacnomania]

I don't plan on losing either.

[He frowns, twisting the bolt in his hand.]

You were lucky the first time. Your method might work, but it still leaves too many things to chance. I can kill the prisoners if I have to, but I don't want to kill you. If you're not gonna kill them, I will.

[whiteas]

Why?

[ Weiss's levels of trust were far below anything a blood pact or even actual friendship might be able to fix right now. Eren helping her so easily, even offering to kill for her.. she didn't really get it. ]

[dacnomania]

Don't know. Guess because I'm just pissed off.

[He shrugs. It was hard for him to explain, but he can't help but think of his own old man, and how it left him with his own indescribable rage. So he didn't get this, or her, but that didn't mean he wanted her to die.]

Anyway, if I just left you here and you were killed because you can't kill them yourself, it would be like it was indirectly my fault.

[whiteas]

I don't like the idea of using you.

[ Just so that they're clear. Honestly, she was tired of being used by everyone. To the point that she thought it was probably just as bad as murder to keep trying to play people like that. ]

For now, I'll watch your back too. If we somehow both make it to the end, we can have a fair duel.

[dacnomania]

You're not.

[They both knew what they were getting into. He meets her eyes and nods. It's as good a deal as any.]

Fair enough. Everything looks the same out here. I don't think which way we go matters. Did you have a route in mind?

[whiteas]

[ Weiss lowers her sword finally, moving to go past Eren. ]

Let's find somewhere with good cover.

[dacnomania]

[Eren's shoulders drop a little, and he looks around, actually examining their surroundings.]

There were more trees that way.

[He nods in one direction. There were a lot of trees everywhere.]

[whiteas]

It's a forest, there are more trees in every direction.

[ She's looking at him like he's lost his marbles because really, there are trees everywhere. ]

We need low-area flora. You can position yourself in the trees since you have the long distance weapon and I'll stay on the ground, hidden by it. That way, you've got visuals and we've both got rapid attack positions.

[dacnomania]

Right, flora.

[He tries to keep his eyes from flickering around uncomfortably. Strategy's never been his thing; using brute force to beat things up is.]

I think I saw some, ah...ferns back there.

[whiteas]

Lead the way.

[ Weiss makes a motion with her hand in the direction that he came from. ]
