EVENT - THE MILGRAM EXPERIMENT

Come one, come all! This wonderful test of brain power and courage is about to commence! What is it exactly, you ask? Well then, don't worry your little head about that one bit! The birdie here will explain it all to you.

The rules are very simple. There is a shocker and a shockee, following so far? The inmates will both be lead into different rooms. There is a glass wall that separates them, and of course a glass wall for the audience to be able to see and watch everything! Now then, the shocker will be provided with questions thanks to a digital screen. The screen itself is integrated into the table they will be seated at, as well as a button, and questions will begin to appear once the game begins. The questions start out easy then start to get harder, and if the shocker tries to tell the shockee any answers, then they will receive the electricity instead, seeing as how they are strapped down to an electric chair as well.

Sounds pretty fun so far! Either way, each pair has four questions to get through. For each question answered correctly, they will gain CP. If the shockee is unable to answer a question, or answers wrong, then it's up to the shocker to provide the pain and then they get the CP. See it's a good game where everyone is rewarded! The shockee cannot die on the first two questions, if they are to answer it wrong (or if the shocker gets the electricity instead) but they can die on the third question, and they will die on the last question if they are shocked. Now then, off to the CP count.

First = 30,000 CP
Second = 40,000 CP
Third = 50,000 CP
Fourth = 80,000 CP

Oh, and there are no extra rewards for dying in this event. The CP gained from questions and shocking will be the only CP awarded. So, comment in the proper spot with your muses entering, and then the shockers will be getting PM's with the questions!

Let it begin!

Adam's jaw tightened when she said such a remark about him, about his people. It was always a touchy subject when it came to the two of them, how they somehow overcame their differences and were actually together. They hadn't even been in prison for very long, but he had truly come to care for Weiss more than he ever would have thought possible.

His eyes were locked on to hers, and he saw what she was pleading internally now. She was saying those things to get him riled up, to get him angry, all because she wanted him to shock her. She didn't want him to get hurt.... that was it, really. What an idiot.

"Once a Schnee... always a Schnee..." he mumbled to himself, then cleared his throat. On to the next question.

"20% of the Earth's land is made up of what?" He made a silent vow to himself, if she answered this one wrong, he would shock her. If she answered the final one wrong... well, he would shock himself.
whiteas: (What on earth is this game?)

She could tell it was getting to him at least. It wasn't something that Weiss wanted to say. She wasn't like her father, like the people in her company who cared only about money, but she certainly knew who she used to be. Someone who hated every member of the White Fang because she thought they were a bunch of deluded psychopaths. And certainly, some of them were. She didn't think she could ever stop hating the way they did things, but Adam was different.

That question though.. she needed to calm down. She knew that this was something she knew. Geography was something that everyone had to study. It wasn't one of her primary fields, but she could definitely try to guess. It wasn't as though there was a timer, she had to clear her mind and think. Most of the earth was water. There were rainforests and regular forests, but there were constant complaints about how those were getting wiped out with ease. What if it was a trick question and was asking about elements? She didn't know that answer. It couldn't have been any kind of forest, especially given how much of those had been wiped out by humans. 20% was probably a huge number, and if it was a question, then it was probably a much more steady number. Something humans couldn't screw up too badly.

Another deep, slow breath.

What were the biomes? Rainforest, savanna, desert, chaparral, temperate forest, grassland, tundra, taiga. She was pretty sure a huge portion of Africa was desert and savanna. A huge portion of Asia was taiga forests... She'd already ruled out forests, that left desert and savanna, since Africa was huge and mostly those three types. She was pretty sure she would've heard about more lions and zebras around the world if it was something along the lines of a savanna. Desert then?

What if she was wrong? Was Adam going to do as he was meant to? Or was he going to shock himself again? She couldn't ask him. Weiss's eyes trained on him in concentration as though trying to get him to telepathically confirm her answer before she said it outloud. She was pretty sure she knew this answer, but what if that was just nerves talking? What if it was a more specific type of sub-biome? Like steppes or desert-scrub... what if it was wetlands? She'd discounted those since they were, well, wet, but if it counted then it was.. What percent of the world was wetlands again? She needed a lifeline.

No, alright. When you take a test, 60% of the time your first instinct is correct. Never change your answer unless you're absolutely certain that it's wrong.

"De...sert."

She said it slowly, almost as though she was waiting to see the reaction in Adam's face to stop herself if it looked wrong, but she was too nervous to try to pull something like that and make a quick switch halfway through the word, even if she tried. Weiss gritted her teeth, making her that her tongue wasn't between them as she prepared for the shock that would hopefully be on her side of the board if that was wrong this time.

He had no idea what she was even thinking about. He watched her carefully, still panting and trying to get his breathing under control from that previous shock. He didn't want to hurt her, he never did, but if he didn't... then she might never get her company back. She might leave here and not have a home to actually return to, unless they can act properly out in the open here.

Still, he wanted her to win this more than anyone. He wasn't even getting any CP here, since he was refusing to shock her. She was the one getting it all, and she deserved that much at least.

He awaited her answer, and when it finally came he could see how nervous she was. He watched her carefully, his eyes softening once she had given him the answer. Thank god she was able to pull it off...

"Correct," he nodded, then he settled back down in his seat. He relaxed a little, closing his eyes and attempting to calm his nerves as well. One more question, just one more. If she can't answer this one, he'll take the fall. "Pretty good, for a spoiled brat," and he was back to dramatics for the audience.

On to the next question then.

"Which country has the most volcanoes in the world?"

Weiss wanted to back out of this. She wanted to tell them that she didn't need the last 80,000CP. She would find it other ways and she just wanted to get Adam back in his cell because he was hard-headed enough not to do as he was supposed to. Because she didn't know the answer to that question. Volcanoes weren't anything most people who didn't live near one needed to know about unless they were a volcanologist or were in a 2nd grade science fair. Even if she had, she wouldn't have paid attention to how many volcanoes every single country had.

"Press the button, Adam."

She had no idea what the answer was. She didn't have anything to eliminate and deduce what the probable answer was. Weiss just wanted him to understand that he wasn't going to do something stupid and refuse to press it. She was flat-out telling him to. If she didn't know the answer and she couldn't even think of where to begin to find it, then she was done playing this game. She just needed Adam to feel the same way.

...Drat.

Well, he knew that he wasn't going to press it just yet, and this would surely be the end for him. He's already died here in this place, he can just do it again. He doesn't want to hurt Weiss, that's the last thing he wants, but he knows that she won't be very happy with him either if he doesn't press it. He's weighing his options here... should he just go ahead and press it, and kill her...? He really doesn't want to do that.

"What are you going to do if I don't?"

He hopes the Warden will give them a moment here before acting, but he's not making any motion to press it just yet.
whiteas: (Don't make me have to worry.)

"Stop taking any advice from you, including past advice."

It was vague enough of a threat that she was sure only Adam would have any idea what that meant at least. It was as close as she could get to saying something meaningful that might stand a chance at deterring him. He didn't need to prove to her that he wasn't going to hurt her anymore. There was no reason for him to die for her again. Threatening to ignore his advice on how to be careful so as to not attract the Warden's attention was as best as she could get to a final gamble here.

He couldn't have her doing that either.

He had promised himself, but it looks like he would have to break that promise. He really didn't want to, this was so brutal... he was the one who would kill Weiss here. Adam was afraid, and he hadn't felt this way since he was just a young boy. Why? Because the Warden liked to play tricks lately.

She killed to make others feel bad about their relationships, and she kept them dead just to see them suffer. He didn't want what to happen to Weiss... he really didn't.

So the man swallowed thickly, his eyes trained on hers and he apologized internally. He pressed the button.
whiteas: (Well I guess I'm still the fairest.)

Weiss took a deep breath and kept her eyes locked with Adam's, not blinking until his finger pressed down on the button. Weiss had died once already, during the battle royale, but it hadn't been at Adam's hand. It hadn't been by her permission. Even if she was the one who had told Adam to do it, she was scared out of her mind. The second the button was down, she couldn't keep looking at him. Her eyes grew wide, her body tensing intensely in the chair. Her attempt not to scream, to keep calm for Adam, had failed within only a few seconds. Every muscle within her body tensed rapidly.

It felt like she was being torn apart from the inside out. Her skin burnt at the sight of the electrodes, the sick scent of burning flesh was creeping over to Adam's side of the glass with ease. It was making her bones ache, crack sickly as her muscles pulled against them too forcefully. But it wasn't that pain that would be her killer. As the electricity reached her heart, its beating turned to spasms. That pain that had seeped inside of her spread throughout her body like wildfire.

Weiss's screams seemed to stop before she could as her nervous system shut down, but her body still twitched with the force of the electric shocks pulsating through her body. Somewhere in the back of her consciousness, she could feel her inability to scream no matter how hard she tried. She couldn't see Adam anymore. It was dark. And then it was gone.

He watched her intently. Adam watched every last moment of her execution. It was so he would remember this moment well and have it fuel his anger towards this prison even more, and it was also to help with the act they had on in front of everyone. He clenched his fists tightly, he grit his teeth, and he waited for the chair to let him go.

Once the restraints came off of him automatically, he moved to stand up. He didn't turn to look at the audience, instead the man walked over to the glass that had separated them. Adam stared at her lifeless, burnt corpse, before he reached out to the glass and placed a gloved hand against it.

That was something he never wanted to witness again, and he had been the one to push the button. He clicked his tongue, then turned back to the audience.

"If you're out there, Schnee company, then this is what the White Fang thinks of your family and your Princess," he practically spat out those words, but he wanted to help her out more than anything.

He turned and left the stage, the doors were all opened for him anyway.
