I'll trust you. Anyway, they're getting along pretty well for being a fox and a dog..

[ Though she supposes it's less weird than that bull from earlier.. ]

Well, Valhalla's a puppy. They can get used to a lot of things if introduced young enough.

[The puppy bows at the fox, waving her stumpy tail.]

What do foxes eat?

[ She's considering keeping her. ]

[ambivalentpaws]

[Kanbaru smiles a little. Heh. She's totally a better roommate than the Pirate Queen.]

I think they eat mice. Kind of like a pet snake, probably. Never had either but that's I think.

[whiteas]

How am I supposed to get mice?

[ She puts her hands on her hips. ] I'm sure they're not going to be running around after this little... [ What should she call it? ] event.

I'll buy you some--people probably have bought stranger things here.

[She gives a small shrug, keeping her smile.] I'd say just feed her chicken or beef but I'm not sure that'd be good for her.

[whiteas]

It's probably going to cost less to get the little mice. It's not like we get anything good from the cafeteria if we don't pay for it.

Right. The little mice should work--I think I heard somewhere that foxes eat more than just meat...

[whiteas]

Well, we get 10 minutes of internet time. I guess I'll print out a page about fox diets and read about it afterward.

[ That should still give her time to check the news if she just gets it printed. ]

How are you going to feed your dog?

[ambivalentpaws]

I'm going to buy dog food. If that doesn't work? I'll feed her beef.

[whiteas]

Beef is probably better anyway.

[ambivalentpaws]

Maybe.

[whiteas]

Well, it's not like dogs eat weird crunchy chunks of who knows what in the wild.

[ That's her point and she's sticking to it. The dogs get steak. ]

I was thinking canned food.

[whiteas]

That might be a little better.

[ But still, that's full of preservatives. #richlyfe ]

That way I can buy more than she currently needs and save the rest.

[This is prison. You take what you can get.]

She's not going to get bigger than that, right?

[ There's not that much room in the cell.. ]

Well, boxers don't get very large. Besides--male dogs tend to grow bigger.

[Valhalla takes her leave of the fox and sits down at Kanbaru's feet, clearly shivering. Having little fur in the snow isn't a good idea--so she picks her up in her arms again.]

Yes, I know, it's called sexual dimorphism. [ A+ student here.. ] But just because the males are bigger doesn't mean that the females aren't big.

[Kanbaru looks a little impressed. She didn't seem like an animal person.] If I remember right, boxers only get about sixty centimeters tall. Might be a tight squeeze for a cell but... I don't think it'd be too bad if I let her on the bed.

[ Not a big animal person. Just a big paying attention in class person. ]

Plus both of us and a fox.

We'll manage somehow.
