[ this. what the hell was this? this wasn't like home. it wasn't like anything. it wasn't even like hell. hell...he'd have a lot more to deal with ]
[ Levi was quiet for the longest time as he lay in his cell, just looking up at the ceiling. all those years during his stupid youth had somehow caught up with him and now... now he was paying for it. and this wasn't even the way he thought he would be paying for it. he thought he'd have a one way ticked to the electric chair after how that trial went.
Levi remembered how he stayed completely quiet during the trial. what was there even to say? nothing, of course. he just accepted it and also accepted the fact that he was probably going to get the death penalty. but he didn't. they went soft on him. the bastards.
now, he was just staring at the ceiling. he had opened his mouth to tell the crying girl across from him to shut-up, but then closed it. once the cells were open, Levi stood at the door for the longest time. his expression was, well, the same as usual. vague and annoyed, even looking slightly bored. he walked past others, not even interested in speaking to them ]
...
[ now, he was standing at the door to go outside. snow, just like home. was he even allowed to go outside? he didn't know and he didn't want to risk it. so he continued to stand at the door, watching others as they were outside ]

Why was he here?
He takes a step back, brows furrowed in confusion.]
Is that really why?
no subject
[ he's heading outside now, walking out far enough to let his shoes get soaked in the snow ]
no subject
[he runs after him, almost slipping a few times in the snow. he doesn't stop until he stands in front of him, angry and out of breath.]
You fight on the side of good! You weren't afraid, not like the others who dared to call themselves cops. So why are you here now?!
no subject
[ he doesn't reply for a few moments, kicked at the snow until he saw what was underneath it ]
I fucked up. That's all and that's it. If you're wanting more info, you're wasting your time and breath.
no subject
[Eren steps to the side and avoids looking at Levi anymore. What did he mean by fucked up? Just what had happened? His voice shakes a little when he speaks again, afraid to hope, but desperate to all the same.]
But you're not gonna stay. Right?
no subject
I'm not here to save you or arrest you again. Commander Smith was the one who made sure of that. That I wouldn't leave this place for a long time.
no subject
The Commander agreed to this?! But I thought...
no subject
[ when that's mentioned, he frowns deeply but doesn't say anything else about it ]
no subject
...Captain. We need to get out of here.
no subject
And what have you tried to do to get out of here? It's a prison!
no subject
It's a building. Any building can be demolished. Right now I'm trying to find allies, but we'll need more information about the security of this place if we want to escape.
no subject
... [ Levi shook his head. right now - right now it was almost too much. he wanted to pay for what he did and this boy wanted to get out ] No.
no subject
Are you serious?
no subject
There are reasons that we're here. I don't want to go on some holy crucade here just to be... [ he paused. he was going to say "longer than he has to" but he forgot. he's here for life. frustrated and finally starting to vent his anger, he kicks at the snow beneath his feet. he'll even kneel and start punching the ground in a minute angrily ]
no subject
It's not a crusade. It's the only option. [He actually stops his speech, too shocked by the sudden shift in his behavior. He can understand being angry, but he takes a step back just in case, saying nothing.]
no subject
[ he punches and punches until his knuckles are red and bleeding. it's not that he stopped because of the pain, he just wanted to keep his hands for now. he sat in the snow, quiet for a long time until he finally spoke ]
I didn't do it. I didn't. But I couldn't convince them otherwise. The Commander was against me-- [ he bit his lip. why was he even telling this stupid kid this?! ]
no subject
... [he stays silent for a long while. in case he has anything more to say. finally, he speaks, quietly.]
I believe you.
no subject
[ he pushes himself to stand then, taking a deep breath in to compose himself. just keep not caring. that's all he needs to do. maybe he will just die in his sleep.
quickly, he turns to Eren and extends a hand. it would probably help to have the boy know that he was on his side. it wasn't that he didn't know him or anything. of course, he did. he had kept an eye on that part of the city after recent events. and he had...been hoping to see the younger boy become an officer himself. like he told Levi. but now it all seemed like a far away dream ]
Don't call me Captain. I'm not an officer anymore. It's Levi.
no subject
[He nearly jumps when he first extends his hand, eying it in surprise. After a few seconds, he straightens his posture and shakes it, filled with grim determination. Even if they got out--and he's not giving up on Levi yet--he would never get to be an officer, and Levi would probably never get his title reinstated.]
Yes...
no subject
[ there was a sadness in his eyes when he said not to call him officer. it was obvious. it was something he was good at and he was proud of it. it was still sinking in that he was never going to get that back ]
no subject
[he didn't miss the sadness. he doesn't know what to think. there were corrupt officers, yes, but he would have thought the commander would at least be loyal to the best. what kind of force betrayed one of their own?]
no subject
Number two, you need people on the inside first. If you're going to take this place down, you'll need friends who are in charge or know those in charge really well.
Number three, figure out every single exit and entrance in this place. If there are patrols and where all of the security cameras are in the building. Making a map would help.
Once you get those, then you can start talking weapons and the real plan.
no subject
I will! I'll do everything, just as you said! Your plan will work, I'm sure of it.
Do you think there's anyone who works here who feels the same way?
no subject
There are others who want to leave just as much as we do. Though the people who actually deserve to leave...that needs to be decided. But if things are destroyed and everyone escapes, everyone will get out.
no subject
It would be a good time to go ahead and kill the prisoners who shouldn't escape. There's gonna be a lot of chaos.
