The Masquerade!

Have you signed up to go to the ball? Not everyone is going, and they don't have to! But they are highly encouraged to. Whether they have a date or not depends on how they'll be getting there. If they do have a specific date then the car that picks them up will be a regular guard car, and they will be told to get into the back and be escorted that way. The guard's cannot be harmed in their car, there is a metal blockade in the car, so sorry! For those that don't have a date, they'll be expected to get into a limo, taking about six or seven inmates at once! You might find your friends in the limo on the way there, yay!

The guards will take the inmates to a secluded spot on an entirely different island than the main one the prison is on. It's a coliseum, one that's used for special events involving horses and other fun animals. The Warden special ordered a massive tent that covers the entire coliseum, and there are heat lamps scattered about within. It's cold outside, these are a must! Around the perimeter of the tent there are several guards with loaded guns. They're standing about, watching very carefully, and if anyone tries to attack another inmate or tries to escape they will be shot on sight, no questions asked.

I don't know, the weather channel could put me to sleep. I'm pretty sure half the time he was sleeping. Kind of hard to tell with the sunglasses.

But we're going to get out. We can't give up Terra, we just have to find a way out of here.

...He wears sunglasses all the time?

I'm not giving up! I just... I don't see how we'll get out right now.

Actually...yeah, he does. I've never seen them off him for long.

Which is why we'll figure something out! Thinking about how hopeless it is won't change anything. We just have to focus on escaping, worry about the rest later.

Does he sleep in them too?

I'm sure a lot of people are trying to find a way out too. Maybe they could help us out.

Sometimes. Sometimes he'll just fall asleep on the couch, doing whatever he does.

All the time. I tried stealing his sword, but it always ended bad.

No, I'm okay with having fun but I don't party.

Of course! He carries it around everywhere. Everywhere he can, anyway. I always begged him to teach me how to fight with one.

What do you mean you don't party?

He never dad? I think Eraqus used to do martial arts, or teach it. He's mentioned it but said that I never wanted to learn.

...No, it's something I didn't want to go to. [ he looks away, like maybe something happened during one ]

[he squints his eyes.] I can't really see you doing martial arts. You look more like a volleyball player.

Huh? How come?

What? No way, I wouldn't play volleyball. [ he frowns ]

...I went to one once and something happened. I really don't want to talk about it.

Do you want to learn martial arts?

That's fine. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to.

[darkerearth]

It would be neat to learn. You could always pull off moves that could get you out of situations.

Thanks... I-- [ he trails off, folding his arms and looking away. no he said he wasn't going to talk about it and that's that ]

I guess. You should learn it. Once we get out.

No problem. [he nods. of course, if Terra changes his mind, he'll listen.]

You should come along too. I think it would help you out. Especially with bullies still out there wanting to pick on you. [ he can't help but laugh ]

Did you go to them all the time? I bet you made Auron worried.

Hey, I can fight. [he cracks his knuckles, giving him a challenging stare.] Those bullies are hardly any effort anyway.

Me? Yeah, I go to parties all the time. That's who I am. A total party person. Auron doesn't worry. He just has this habit of glaring and complaining about saving your ass.

They really weren-- Whoa, wait a minute! [ he raised his hands again ] I don't want to fight you here!

[ he rolls his eyes but it probably can't be seen too well under his mask ] So he had to save you at parties or in general? Did you get drunk and hook up with a bunch of girls all the time? [ that's what they do at parties, right? that's what the other football players parties are like! ]

[sinspawn]

Huh? I didn't think you were. [he blinks.] Relax, Terra.

[There's a flash of bitterness in his eyes, but it's fast, and hard to notice.] No. I'd film all the drunks making asses out of themselves and he'd have to bail me out once I crossed the wrong people.

You started cracking your knuckles like you were going to fight me.

Would you use it as blackmail? If they were that drunk, it probably wouldn't take much to outrun them.

[sinspawn]

Oh. Did I? My bad...

Who wants to use something like that as blackmail when you can post it everywhere! Of course, they'd always find out, and it would be a few days after the party before they'd actually, you know, chase me. Not-drunkly.

Why...? Why did you do it when you knew that you were going to get hurt?

I don't know, it just seemed fun at the time.
