The Masquerade!

Have you signed up to go to the ball? Not everyone is going, and they don't have to! But they are highly encouraged to. Whether they have a date or not depends on how they'll be getting there. If they do have a specific date then the car that picks them up will be a regular guard car, and they will be told to get into the back and be escorted that way. The guard's cannot be harmed in their car, there is a metal blockade in the car, so sorry! For those that don't have a date, they'll be expected to get into a limo, taking about six or seven inmates at once! You might find your friends in the limo on the way there, yay!

The guards will take the inmates to a secluded spot on an entirely different island than the main one the prison is on. It's a coliseum, one that's used for special events involving horses and other fun animals. The Warden special ordered a massive tent that covers the entire coliseum, and there are heat lamps scattered about within. It's cold outside, these are a must! Around the perimeter of the tent there are several guards with loaded guns. They're standing about, watching very carefully, and if anyone tries to attack another inmate or tries to escape they will be shot on sight, no questions asked.

[he can get that. what are the chances he'll ever play football again even if he gets out of here? he lets the subject drop.] Okay.

No offense Terra, but how do you know what I'm like? We didn't interact that much in school--we're not even on the same teams. Look, don't worry. I'm fine.

No, but you were like the spokesperson for your team. You always boasted about how great you guys were, that you worked harder than the football team, and that you were going to nationals...or whatever you guys call it. I might not have spoken to you much, but I was watching.

...Whatever. Just forget it. [ once they're to the corner, he puts his back against the wall with his arms still crossed ]

State meets. Swimmers don't get nationals. You were really watching, weren't you?

[he just stares at him oddly in silence, his own arms at his sides.]

It wasn't like I was stalking you.

I wanted to show you up about what you were saying all the time. So we started working harder and that could be why football players picked on you guys for a while... I told them to stop, but they don't listen. [ he paused ] They weren't all that horrible...but some of them should be here with us though.

[sinspawn]

Didn't say you were. Were you stalking me?

You? Wanted to show me up. [he shakes his head, looking off, almost as if he can't believe it.] I figured they just needed someone to pick on. I wouldn't say that. Sure, a lot of them are jerks, but no one should be here. You said it yourself.

[darkerearth]

I just said that I wasn't.

Yeah, you called us out. [ he sighed ] They were mean. Anyone who didn't worship them and didn't think that they were the greatest needed to be picked on.

[sinspawn]

But by saying it you make it sound like you're trying to sound less suspicious about it. [he's teasing him.]

Tell me about it. They couldn't take their punches, either.

[darkerearth]

But I wasn't! That would be really creepy.

Yeah, and they would pick on each other if that makes it any worse. But they all seemed to come together when it was time for a game. It was really something to see.

Well, you are kind of creepy...

You had a hand in it too. They really seemed to get better once you joined the team.

No I'm not! ...I'm not, right? [ oh god does he look worried now ]

They just needed a little direction is all. But thanks. I wanted to show that I could help someone. I needed to be a role model for my brother and sister anyway... The team was out if control and it wasn't safe for my sister when she joined your team.

[he tries to keep a straight face but he ends up laughing.] No, you're not. You don't need to take everything I say so seriously.

That's really noble of you. I guess that makes sense. You'd want to protect Aqua. Here I thought you were just some dumb idiot obsessed with beating other dumb idiots up.

Guess you didn't know me too well either.

[he laughs.] I guess not. Or maybe I just took Aqua's stories too seriously...

Just, you know, about all the stupid stuff you did.

Uhh...like that one time with the thing with you and Ven where you got banned from that store or whatever.

That-That wasn't even my fault!!

Uh-huh, sure. Actually, I didn't hear it from her, so don't worry.

[ he frowns, covering up the remainer of his face with his hand. mostly his hand over his mouth out of embarrassment. he removed it then, a frown still on his face ]

Ven was still having...behavior problems. He was my brother and I didn't want him in trouble with Eraqus, especially since he hadn't been with us for that long. So I took everything that he had stolen and stuffed it in my bag when he ran out of the store. They caught me and left him alone. [ he shrugs ]
