Punishment Game!

Shortly after the Warden's announcement, the guards enter G-Block to escort the Carnival Corpse losers to the punishment area. As usual they are rough and impatient, so anyone dumb enough to fight back will get a little pre-game roughing up.

When the screens around the prison come on, each Deadman is already strapped into a chair with the roulette wheel looming behind them in it's grotesque glory. It seems that the only member of staff present is the Doctor, who waves to the audience with her lips ever so slightly turned up into a ghost of a smile. She was silent as the off-screen announcer shared the details of the game, but those in the room could likely sense her anticipation.

"You all know why you're here, don't you?" The Doctor turns once the announcer is finished. "Then let's begin."

(ooc: When you reply, please specify what you want done to your character. You're more than welcome to pick a punishment" from the list, or RNG it for a bit of fun. You may also allow the mods to choose a punishment. If that's the case, please mark rather you want our choice to be fatal or non-fatal. You can contact us if any of our choices are out of your realm of comfort.)

He went quiet again. Everything was raw, just like right after the Boss died. That had been his fault too. And in atoning for that sin, they had this place to deal with. He thought he'd been prepared for the inevitability of ending up here. What a dumb idea that was.

He pushed a hand through his hair with a huff. "If anyone needs help, especially the other Deadmen up there today, let me know." He struggled to clear his throat. "The prize money and candy are there for anyone that needs help."

He nodded.

"And if you need help," he put a hand on his shoulder and squeezed, "I'm with you no matter what."

Maybe it was redundant, but he needed to be sure Shotaro knew that. He was always so wrapped up in worrying about everyone else that it seemed as though he didn't stop to take care of himself.

"Thanks, John," he answered. He did appreciate having a guy like John around. He brought his hand up to squeeze John's hand on his shoulder and gave him a tight smile. "Glad to have you."

"Good, because you'll have a tough time getting rid of me." He smiled in return, even if it was hard to do so when he thought of what Philip was going through. He knew that what he was telling Shotaro was right, but it would be a lie to say he didn't wish he could save him too. But this was about the person in front of him right now. Everything else had to come later.

"And..." He trailed off, moving across the room to retrieve Shotaro's hat. "I think you may have an even tougher time getting rid of this." He held it out, hopeful that he'd take it.

He looked at it for a long moment. It was a heavy thing for him to consider taking right now. But at this point, it was all he had. His hand did shake a bit when he took it from him. He pushed it down onto his head, pulling his bangs aside.

"Don't ever think you don't deserve to wear that. You deserve it more than any man I've ever known."

He really meant it, too.
