The Masquerade!

Have you signed up to go to the ball? Not everyone is going, and they don't have to! But they are highly encouraged to. Whether they have a date or not depends on how they'll be getting there. If they do have a specific date then the car that picks them up will be a regular guard car, and they will be told to get into the back and be escorted that way. The guard's cannot be harmed in their car, there is a metal blockade in the car, so sorry! For those that don't have a date, they'll be expected to get into a limo, taking about six or seven inmates at once! You might find your friends in the limo on the way there, yay!

The guards will take the inmates to a secluded spot on an entirely different island than the main one the prison is on. It's a coliseum, one that's used for special events involving horses and other fun animals. The Warden special ordered a massive tent that covers the entire coliseum, and there are heat lamps scattered about within. It's cold outside, these are a must! Around the perimeter of the tent there are several guards with loaded guns. They're standing about, watching very carefully, and if anyone tries to attack another inmate or tries to escape they will be shot on sight, no questions asked.

[ there's a lady in red sitting nearby. she isn't drinking, but she's turned the other way and looking at everyone. she sits with her legs crossed and her back straight, like a queen in a sense ]

[ Whoever the woman was, Scratch was pretty positive he didn't know her, but even from behind something about her was enticing. She carried herself differently than most people he had seen, and that alone was interesting enough to make him approach her. ]

Looking for someone out there?

[ He gave his usual grin. ]

[ she blinked, coming back to reality as she looked over at the other. she didn't seem alarmed or anything, just looked like she had been deep in thought and noticed someone was talking ]

Me? [ she gave a small laugh, shaking her head ] No, I only know a few people that are here already and I wish I didn't. I'm just...observing, really.

[schizophreniac]

[ Scratch raised a brow at her statement. That sounded interesting. ]

Aaaah, I think I get it. Trying to avoid someone instead?

Not really. I just...we don't really get along well.

[ she turned to him finally, extending a hand out as she smiled ] My name's Regina. I'm sorry that I didn't introduce myself sooner.

Sorry to hear that. I've got a similar situation.

[ He smiled as well, giving her hand a friendly shake. ]

No apologies needed. Call me Arsen.

Hopefully it's no one too horrible.

Nice to meet you, Arsen. [ she pulls her hand back and places them over each other in her lap ]

No, it isn't like that. I'm the one they think is horrible, actually.

[ He shrugged as if he was all too used to it. ]

You don't seem too horrible, though ending up here, that's probably an understatement. We're all horrible.

[ she smiled, cocking her head to the side ]

If you don't have a date tonight, would you mind if I tagged along? You seem a lot more interesting than others here and you're dressed neatly. [ that's always a plus for Regina! even Robin Hood has some style ]

Yep, I guess we are.

[ He was beginning to like her way of thinking. ]

Wouldn't be much of a gentleman if I were decline after all those nice compliments.

Good! I'm glad to hear it. [ now she'll move her chair over to him, closer now ]

[ When he smirked there was a certain devilish charm about it. He noticed her moving closer, but he didn't remark on it. His smile said everything. ]

I gotta say, you're the kind of lady I wouldn't mind knowing more about. What'd you do before you got caught up in all this prison business?

Oh, a little of this and that... Mostly being the mayor of a town.

[schizophreniac]

Yeah? No kidding. Anywhere big on tourism?

[stillinlove]

No where too special, just a little town called Storybrooke.

What about yourself? You look like you're between a lawyer or a detective.

[schizophreniac]

Sounds like a pretty charming place.

[ He leaned back in his chair a bit, the look on his face clearly showing he was pleased with her assumptions. ]

Nah, but I've worked with my fair share of 'em. I was a coroner before I landed myself a spot here.

[stillinlove]

It was. Just a little town in the middle of nowhere. Everyone was very friendly.

My, that's a bit different than I thought. You were still very important though.

[schizophreniac]

You miss it?

[ He couldn't relate, but he could pretend to. ]

It was interesting work at least. No one better to do the job, either. The poor saps are gonna end up missing me eventually.

A bit. But there were a lot of bad people there too.

Maybe they'll let you out on good behavior and you can go back. At least you can always hope.

No surprise there. Bad people are everywhere.

[ He chuckled at that. ]

Deadman Wonderland definitely isn't a place that lets you out for something so simple.

I figured, but it was a nice thought.

[ she paused ]

Have you...been here long? You seem to know a lot about this place. Or I might not be talking to the right people.

Long enough to get the general idea. It does help that I've got somewhat of a VIP pass too.

A VIP pass? I didn't get one of those. You must be important here too.

Never thought of it that way. I always figured they just wanted to keep me behind the scenes to avoid the inevitability of my charm wooing all the ladies.

[ He winked at her teasingly before taking a drink from his glass. When he set it down again, there wasn't so much nonchalance in his voice. ]

Truth is, Regina, I know stuff they don't want getting out. The only privileges I get are because it advances their goal in keeping my mouth shut.

[ she gave a laugh, smiling brightly ] Oh? Is that so? Tell me, how many of the girls have you wooed so far?

Well if you know things, you should be able to let others know about them too. But I'm sure they have to pay a price. [ she paused ] I'm not interested in knowing your secrets--not at this point. If anything, I'd like to know about you, personally. Your secrets will be revealed eventually whether you want them to or not. It's how things end up going.
