Punishment Game!
Shortly after the Warden's announcement, the guards enter G-Block to escort the Carnival Corpse losers to the punishment area. As usual they are rough and impatient, so anyone dumb enough to fight back will get a little pre-game roughing up.
When the screens around the prison come on, each Deadman is already strapped into a chair with the roulette wheel looming behind them in it's grotesque glory. It seems that the only member of staff present is the Doctor, who waves to the audience with her lips ever so slightly turned up into a ghost of a smile. She was silent as the off-screen announcer shared the details of the game, but those in the room could likely sense her anticipation.
"You all know why you're here, don't you?" The Doctor turns once the announcer is finished. "Then let's begin."
(ooc: When you reply, please specify what you want done to your character. You're more than welcome to pick a punishment" from the list, or RNG it for a bit of fun. You may also allow the mods to choose a punishment. If that's the case, please mark rather you want our choice to be fatal or non-fatal. You can contact us if any of our choices are out of your realm of comfort.)

Magpie (Aya Drevis)
no subject
The way the guards drag her to to the punishment game is eerily similar to that night, that night of the house fire. The way her father looked at her not as a daughter but a potential threat to herself. That there was only course of action--it was the first time since Aya arrived in this prison that she was showing something other a smile or a neutral expression.
Oh, she had loved her father, respected him but even when she was emulating him... She couldn't forget that fear. Yet, she didn't resist.
It's that fear mixed with respect that is overwhelming her as she is presented to the Doctor. "So this is what being on the other end of the scalpel feels like."
no subject
"You of all people should understand why I do what I do, Magpie." She motioned to the guard to spin the wheel. "So let's be friends when this is all over, hm?"
The wheel spun for a decent amount of time before landing on "leg". The Doctor casually held up her scalpel as she moved closer to Aya.
"Ready, dear?" The glint in her eyes was nothing if not disturbing.

Hawk (Ankh)
Re: Hawk (Ankh)
Eventually he was in the chair and strapped in. He squirmed in pain against his burns. He was obviously in a lot of pain. "Fuck all of this," he grumbled. "This is bullshit!" he shouted at the announcer's voice. As if it would do any good.

This Carnival Corpse really had given her a lovely group to operate on. So many people with emotional connections. She hoped that whatever happened to this one made his dear sister scream. The wheel spun and spun, just barely moving past one spot and onto the "appendix" panel.
How absolutely disappointing.
"Are you ready, little bird?"

Sparrow (Fetch)
no subject
Fetch didn't know entirely what to expect. She'd heard this witch was a crazy as the rest, but she'd never seen a punishment game before. She didn't know what the woman was capable of, or just how bad it would be. The only thing she knew is that when she took a good look at that wheel, it just about knocked the breath out of her.
She didn't want to admit it, but she was afraid.
no subject
The harsh clicking of the wheel as it slowed counted down the seconds, the anticipation rising ever more. The final three clicks felt like an eternity, but the wheel's peg bounced back finally, settling on a kidney.
The smile fell a little, but she turned to Fetch with an almost hungry curiosity. This could either be fatal or non-fatal, depending on one simple little fact. The Doctor closed a few quick steps, pushing the tray of medical instruments out of the way so she could put her face only an inch or so from Fetch's ear, hot, excited breaths creeping down the girl's neck.
"Do you still have both of your kidneys, little Sparrow?"

Peregrine Falcon (Ryu Terui)
no subject
If Ryu felt any fear, he was good at masking it. He knew Hidari would be watching, and that only hardened his resolve to show no fear. Not just out of pride, but because he didn't want the half-boiled idiot to feel guilt for what had happened. Things went the way they needed to, after all. He'd deal with any despair that was left for him on his own.

"I wonder what I'll get to take~? Your tongue? Your eyes? The tips of your fingers where every last one of your nerves ends~?!"
She sounded so excited, almost intoxicated with it as the wheel finally touched base. Oh, his lungs. She knew exactly how to do this to try to make him scream.
"Lower the table flat. He's a dead man with his lungs gone, we might as well save time~"
She was going to cut him open like he was a corpse on a slab to get that lung, instead of a normal human being, and she'd make sure he was awake for every minute of it.

Jay (Yui Kiriyama)
( non-fatal, mod's choice, please! )
If she did that, she'd be the real loser here.
Green eyes flicker towards the camera, giving it an apologetic stare -- if people outside were watching this, right now, she needed to silently apologize. For all the trouble she's caused. But then her eyes moved towards the doctor's, her voice eerily calm and steady. ]
Let's get this over with. All you have to do is spin the wheel and do your thing, right?
[ Even if she sounded confident, it's just false confidence. ]

Macaw (Philip)
no subject
Philip is absolutely not going to freak out like he did last time. He won't give them the satisfaction. And even more so, he won't make Shotaro worry about him -- he's sure he's watching.
He closes his eyes and grits his teeth, waiting for this to end.

Pheasant (Eiji Hino)
no subject
Eiji wasn't very good at holding a poker face, but if Hina-chan was watching he had to do what he could to be brave. He was determined that he couldn't leave her behind this time, either. Especially if something happened to Ankh.
So he didn't struggle when they took him, or when they strapped him down to the chair. If he kept his mind focused on the people he cared about, maybe he'd make it out of there alive.

Starling (Joey)
no subject
Jounouchi grumbled at being escorted by the guards. It reminded him of his rough welcome. There was no way out of this, either way he would be facing some kind of torture.
Frankly being in this sort of situation scared him shitless. If it were some kind of game show-- wait it was, it still did not help the matter. Still, he had to put up a face, there was no way he was going to crumble. "Oh I know why I'm here, just to entertain ya freaks."

Spectating!
During any of them
His partner. The kid the Boss had left him to protect. He couldn't do anything to save him from something like this. But maybe, with that anesthetic, he'd be okay.
But no, there was no anesthetic. This screaming was going to haunt his nightmares for the rest of his life. Not just Philip's, but all the other Deadmen. Even the ones he didn't know well. None of them deserved this. No matter what they did or didn't do.
He pulled his knees up against his chest. His stump and the ghost of the foot that had been there ached, both from the strain of the three days of fighting and the memory of being in that chair himself.
And he cried. At first it was fairly obvious, sniffly, blubbering, but eventually he quieted down. As Terui died, he snatched the fedora off his head and flipped it onto the table nearby. He had no business wearing it right now. This was all his fault. He should at least be up there with them. He should have taken Joey's place. He was just a kid.
If he'd known this was the cost of winning he would never have agreed to Terui's plan.

((during philip))
Oh no.
She was not expecting this.
As much as she loved the idea of torture and pain, this wasn't one she wanted to lay witness to. At all.
Her first thoughts were to do something to make him feel better, but how? She was broke now, he had to loan her money...
during any of them
She couldn't bear to watch it -- the pain of others was too much to take. At least, that would be her excuse if anybody dared to ask. Her head was lowered, but she wouldn't mind actually talking to others.
At the very least, she could try. ]
