Just as The Ringleader promised, shortly after noon the guards retrieve a group of inmates and lead them to a stage set up just for this event.

It feels like a cheesy 80s game show, with seven seating areas for all the teams to sit comfortably. There's a table and a couch, with paper on the tables. There's a small divider between each area. Off to the side of them all is a typical white wood podium, with a big microphone. Standing behind the microphone is The Ringleader herself, who is certainly dressing the part. Of course, The Captain is at her side. Her outfit doesn't seem to reflect that she's all that excited.

The Ringleader waves to each contestant as they are led to their places. Once everyone is is "settled", she clasps the microphone and greets everyone cheerfully.

"Hello one and all! If trivia and romance is what you're searching for, look no further than this stage. Welcome to The Newlydeds game!" She waves to the audience and they cheer in response. She's really working the crowd. After a brief explanation of the rules, she and The Captain take their places as round one begins.

--

The game is simple! We'll ask you guys questions about each other, and you better hope that the answer matches theirs! If it doesn't, you just might end up love-struck.

All participants get 100k CP.
The winning team with the most correct answers wins an extra 250k CP.

Rules:
- Five questions will be given to the teams. Two to one partner, two to another. The fifth question is given to the partner who answers the most questions properly. If both answer the same amount, the person to request the fifth question is RNGed.
- When the question comes up, think of your answer and let your partner answer. Then, ICly respond whether it's right or wrong. If it's close enough (ie: "What colour are your partner's curtains?" You answer lilac, they say purple -- we'll count it as close enough), we'll respond in affirmative. Otherwise, we'll administer the punishment if it's wrong!
- If a team does not answer the majority of, or three out of five, questions correctly they lose.
- This event will require a lot of participation, so make sure to stay active!

Since there's absolutely no point in hiding herself anymore, Rei Hazama is out and about -- off her wheelchair, and out to do some plotting. Oh, she plans on killing every last person in this prison. Eventually. But not while they're here, especially given the point that death held absolutely no meaning to them here. They were just going to get revived, anyway.

Which is why she's not wearing the normal prison garb, no. You know that dress that she wore at the party when she had her mask on? The purple one? That's the one she's wearing, and she's decided that it's about time to start putting things in place.

Of course, she's not alone. She never is. It may look like she's alone, sure -- but there's someone watching from the darkness, a bodyguard who she's taken control of. Her wolf. The places she'll be at are obvious: the first being the library; she's making absolutely certain what exactly people are looking for. It's her job, here in this prison, and she's taking full advantage of it. Well, there's not much about her if someone tries to delve into her history too deeply, and it isn't as if she won't answer questions if asked. Rei's honest enough for that, at least. They'll probably find an article or two about the years that Rei Hazama spent as a TV actress in Saimin Shoujo - Hypnotist Girl - if anything.

As for other places she's in, Rei is practically anywhere, trailing others but not being sneaky about it at all. Does she care about getting caught stalking others? Not really.

Shingo wanted to circle the wagons, so to speak, after that kind of thing. He wanted to see that the people he cared about were okay. Sure he'd heard from each of them, but seeing them and seeing a message from them were two different things.

Sure, he gave Eiji a hard time most times. And once upon a time, he may have actually been actively trying to push him away. But he was too dumb to realize it, and all the better, he supposed. Just as he had hoped, ditching the bleached hair had helped him to see himself differently. And the world around him, as well. He wasn't sure if he was ready, or if it was safe for him to ditch Ankh completely, but there was definitely things worth salvaging in his old life.

And as for breakfast, he actually got real food. And true to his word, he got as much bacon as he could. Even if he got mouthy with whoever was dishing it out that day to try and get his way. He was no longer subsisting on frozen treats. Well, if that cereal choice was any indication, his tastes hadn't matured any. Baby steps.

Philip was displeased. He'd gone to all the trouble of studying how to celebrate birthdays, and the star of the attraction had been held up in an event for the past three days. It wasn't fair.

While he was gone, though, Philip went in and redecorated Shotaro's room. Streamers hung from the ceiling and balloons decorated the room. He'd cleared off Shotaro's bedside table, dragged his own over from the next room over, and stuck them together to form a table big enough for the cake he'd baked and the three cans of soda he'd purchased, one for each person attending this "party".

Parties should generally be bigger than this, or at least that's what he's read, but he doesn't want to waste the CP on getting into the lounge.

He calls Fetch over, and then it's time to wait for Shotaro.

Welcome to day three. You guys are going to starve soon if you're not careful.

Team A and Team B both failed to lynch again. And again, we lay witness to two murders. On Team A, we find the loss of Koishi, the cop. A very bad loss for Team A, for sure.
Team B lost Rei, the villager.

This now leaves the teams with three towns people and one mafia each, putting you in a situation called mislynch and lose, which is quite simple.
You lynch a townsperson, you lose. Lynch mafia, you win.

Be sure to lynch today. You don't want to end up in a threeway, do you?

Ah, welcome to day two everyone. Let's see...

Team A didn't fare too well. They tried to lynch, but came up empty handed. Two votes went to Koishi, one went to Shotaro. But with no majority, no lynch was had.
We awoke this morning to find that Joey, the villager, had been gruesomely killed, by means of playing cards shoved down his throat.
That now leaves five people, so three to reach majority. Shouldn't be too hard, no?

Team B didn't choose to lynch anybody, perhaps a smart move if not for the mafia lurking around. Mitsuzane was found murdered, laying in a fountain with his blood surrounding him. Yikes. Five remain here as well, so three for majority.

It's now day two. You better do something soon or your teams will starve!

[OOC notes:
- Dying in this game means you're free from the colosseum. Enjoy your newfound freedom...as soon as you revive.
- Pets are being fed by caretakers or anybody who isn't in the event who wishes to do it.]

[ The Captain smiles on the colosseum, which has been transformed into a small little village with a house, gallows and a campfire. There is a similar one on the other side, and a wall separates the two.

Her voice comes over the speakers, loud and clear. ]

Welcome to the Village, everyone. I trust you all are having a fine morning!
In your pockets you’ll find a piece of paper with your role and what your win conditions are. Keep that paper to yourself. You’re free to tell people what you are, but be careful. Don’t throw the game, dohoho~

The rules are simple. You find which one of you is the mafia. But be careful, lynching incorrectly could result in problems. Listen closely to what your friends say, and watch your words carefully. You never know what can be used against you...
Failure to comply with the game may result in a much bigger loss than what your team would suffer, huhu~

TEAM A
Shotaro
Hina
Terui
Koishi
Joey
Mitsuki

TEAM B
Ankh
Micchy
Christa
Rei
Rika
Aya

((OOC: Basic rules:
- No copying the message sent to you with your role information in any form. No screeenshotting, either.
- You must choose a user during your night actions. You can’t kill nobody, investigate nobody, et cetera.
- No lynching is permitted during the game, however is suboptimal.
- Any questions can be sent to DM on Plurk, or to the avibusraris account.

A - BACKDATED BC I'M A MORON: Ankh had finally decided he was ready for a change. And true to her word, Hina was only too happy to help him with the hair dye. So they had drug a chair into the women's communal bathroom for him to sit in while Hina did the hair dyeing for him. He sat in front of her, in an undershirt with a towel wrapped snug around his neck and shoulders. He just hoped that this was going to be as much of a benefit as he thought it was. If he was a bit testy, that was only out of his own nerves about this kind of thing.

But when Hina presented him with several pages of fashion design sketches for him to look at it helped him relax some. Even if the hair dye reeked. Looking through the drawings that were so very Hina, brought up those long-forgotten memories of pride in his little sister. How excited she'd been to get into her design school. She seemed to be picking right up where she had left off after he'd given her the present. "Hina, these are great!" he told her, sounding a bit more like himself than like the professional thief he had been for so long.

B: Later, Ankh is looking like a completely different guy, his hair completely free and unstyled. He was mostly at a loss for what to do with it if he wasn't going to look like Ankh anymore. Further, he wanted to use the length to cover the shaved side until it grew back. So he looked a bit like a wild man.

So he was at work, putting his hours in in the Courtyard and at the Pool. In the courtyard, he looks a bit under-dressed for the snow he's clearing, but it doesn't appear to bother him too much. At the pool he's mostly ignoring his duties and relaxing with a couple popsicles. He's still dressing the same as ever, preferring red, studs, and flashy t-shirts. Baby steps.

[Yay character development! Using pics of Miura Ryosuke's character from Piece for the moment. I may still use some Ankh icons if I need them for the facial expressions but he pretty much looks like this for now. Bother away!

WHEEL OF MISFORTUNE

[ After the morning announcements, something exciting happens! Yes, yes, yes-- there's flashing lights, a live studio audience..! And a rather infamous wheel that made its name into gameshow history center stage next to a large holographic board with a green backs and white blanks on the board. As the first group of inmates are escorted to their positions behind their score podiums, the crowd simultaneously chants "WHEEL... OF... MISFORTUNE!" oh-so-cheerfully!

That's when the famous Deadman Wonderland announcer speaks up... ]

Ladies, gentlemen, and all those kind enough to join us tonight: The President aaaand The Director!

[ The twins walk out onto the stage together, the Director dressed in a crisp suit and the President in a nice dress, though her hair is down as always. They literally look like they could be hosting the Wheel of Fortune TV show-- except the Director heads over to the board while the President heads near the contestants. ]

Hi everyone, I'm the President. If you're unfamiliar with the game, each pair gets to guess one letter per spin. You can only guess consonants for free, vowels cost a price. You can solve the puzzle early if you know the answer to end the game, but you will cut off chances for more CP if you do that. If the letter you guess isn't in the puzzle, the next pair gets to play. Each pair can split the CP they earn here at the end of the game.

[ She yawns for a moment, glancing over at the Director. They have some kind of weird non-verbal communication, then she turns back. ]

Let's introduce our first players...

{{ OOC: There will be individual threads for each game! Each game will have one pair threading with the President at a time. When the pair changes, the President's subject line will change with the name of the next pair up! I will also try to remind the players in each pair when it changes. There will be individual threads for each game. Do decide which pair goes first, each pair needs to reply to the President's first comment with a number 1-10. Whoever gets the number or gets closest will be the first pair to go first. One number per pair, whichever character within the pair replies first represents the pair.

Please use this if you need reference for what your character can see on the wheel as they spin it, but all spins will be RNG'd by a mod for fairness! Any special cards will be explained ICly as they appear in-game.

So, he was alive.

Somehow that was a concept almost impossible to comprehend. He had known it was coming, he had witnessed others coming back from the supposed dead -- but experiencing it was an inevitability that he wasn't handling as well as he had thought he would. For several minutes he sat on his bed and stared at the wall, trying to make sense of things. Instinctively he reached for the necklace that was supposed to be around his neck, but stopped short when he remembered it wasn't there. That final thought propelled him out of bed. He couldn't stand to sit and think anymore.

Once he was up, he changed out of his usual red leather outfit. For now, he was only wearing jeans and a red long sleeved shirt. He didn't feel like putting on a lot of clothes. They felt too restrictive after experiencing the feeling of not being able to breathe. After everything that had happened, falling into his usual routine of making his morning coffee was the only thing that could get his mind to stop wandering.

Later in the day, he could easily be spotted leaning against the wall of the cafeteria during lunch hours. He'd at least worn his leather jacket to look more put together. From the way he was watching things, it seemed as if he was looking out for someone or something.

First thing in the morning:
Well, that was terrible. Embarrassing, horrible, and stupid. But, he was glad to not have the pain anymore. And he had his face back the way it belonged. Sure he was vain, but even most people might have trouble with what gallons of acid would do to a person.

He knew he had Hina and Eiji to face out there, as well as the woman that caused the problem in the first place. But first, he was going to get everything back to normal. That meant it was time to get his hair back to something resembling presentable. The tournament and being in bed for days hadn't done it any favors. And if he was taking his sweet time, then that was probably on purpose.

He wanted to see Hina, he really did. He had somehow missed her during his self-imposed isolation. That was something he hadn't expected. But, he wasn't sure if he was ready to see her. Not after what had happened yesterday. If she had seen that, then...

Eventually, he ran out of excuses to not leave his room. He stood the collar up of his shirt and headed for the door.

Later, in the library:
That bitch was gonna pay. And so, he was going to lay bait the best way he knew how. He stretched out on top of the bookshelf, as he usually did, to wait for her to decide she had something to say about it. He was pretty sure Hina and Eiji wouldn't let him anywhere near her if he'd said anything, or worse warn her. She deserved to feel every inch of the pain she'd put him in.

Evening, courtyard
Back in his favorite tree, with a popsicle. He's more or less dressed for the weather for once. He needed a plan for the future. If he was going to return to who he used to be, then he had to put certain safeguards in place first. Because he wouldn't be able to protect Hina the same way as before.

After the Carnival Corpse, Eiji was in a daze. He was with it enough to know that he should probably stay in bed, but laying there and thinking of what had happened was way too much. More than that, he needed to be there for Hina-chan. Seeing Ankh like that must have felt like a nightmare.

So he used some extra bandages on his feet and headed toward the G-Block stairs. It turned out having no toenails hurt more than he'd imagined, but if by nothing other than pure determination he would reach her cell. He could worry about the return trip later.

By the time he was almost there, he could barely take it. Blood was seeping through the bandages, and he was having a hard time guising the grimace on his face. No one would mind if he sat down in the hall for a minute, would they?

Shortly after the Warden's announcement, the guards enter G-Block to escort the Carnival Corpse losers to the punishment area. As usual they are rough and impatient, so anyone dumb enough to fight back will get a little pre-game roughing up.

When the screens around the prison come on, each Deadman is already strapped into a chair with the roulette wheel looming behind them in it's grotesque glory. It seems that the only member of staff present is the Doctor, who waves to the audience with her lips ever so slightly turned up into a ghost of a smile. She was silent as the off-screen announcer shared the details of the game, but those in the room could likely sense her anticipation.

"You all know why you're here, don't you?" The Doctor turns once the announcer is finished. "Then let's begin."

(ooc: When you reply, please specify what you want done to your character. You're more than welcome to pick a punishment" from the list, or RNG it for a bit of fun. You may also allow the mods to choose a punishment. If that's the case, please mark rather you want our choice to be fatal or non-fatal. You can contact us if any of our choices are out of your realm of comfort.)

Nonon is busy working away in the lounge for two reasons: to pay Philip back, and to make sure she doesn't have any more close calls like that again. Because death doesn't seem interesting, not at this time anyway.

[Out of all the indignities Tokaku have had to deal with since the less than desirable outcome of her mission (save for the obvious, of course), her presence in what passes for a food hall has to be the sorest. She's gone through the motions since her arrest, hardly tense at the threat of discomfort.

The bland and utterly unappetizing food shouldn't have been a surprise, but it's unwelcome all the same. She pokes at it listlessly, knowing she needs to eat to keep her spirits up and her sanity in this place, and yet....

If there's any motivation to improve her circumstances left in her, it will be cultivated to obtain a decent bowl of curry.]

[There's a dry smirk on his face.] I think it's probably more impressive that I stayed out of prison this long. A broken clock is right twice a day, as they say.

I have to go to school? Well, that's interesting. It seems kind of pointless, though. I already know everything I need to to survive.

And it looks like you've got quite the performance waiting for me, too. I'll be looking forward to seeing what talents there are on display. As it goes in show business, break a leg, finalists.

[Action]
[The beautiful new guy with the long dark hair in a ponytail and icy silver eyes can be found lots of places on his first day, and the last day of the Carnival Corpse. He picks up a network device at the gift shop, and goes to check out the courtyard, because he's used to being outdoors. Later, he hits the library to find some classical literature to fall into for a while. And he's going to not look happy about the captive rodents

Later on, he's tired of being around people, so he heads back to his room. Sure, he'll put a friendly mask on, but it's rather difficult and exhausting when he's worried about Shion. And he's not happy about admitting how worried he is to himself. So for now, he lounged on his bed, with a pair of books beside him, and the third in his lap. The covers read "The Aeneid", "The Complete Poetry and Prose of William Blake", and "Les Miserables". Beginning with the tale of a man that had been in prison seemed only appropriate.]

Entering the auction was a bit of a gamble for Roman, but it should work. You know, provided that he could get to know his targets and figure out who they held dear in the space of a few hours with no context while he was still getting used to the prison. But hey, what was life without a little challenge? If he pulled this off, the bragging rights would be tremendous.

Roman had the good fortune to be passing the library when he heard Weiss losing her shit about something, which was always music to his ears, so he took a peek in the doorway. It was all he could do not to crack up. Two grown men had cobbled together a paper mache volcano and set it off in the middle of the library. He wasn't clear on how those volcanoes were supposed to go-- his only experience was when he made one with black powder and got kicked out of the third grade science fair-- but he was pretty sure they weren't supposed to erupt that long. He ducked back out into the hall and slid down the wall, laughing into his sleeve to stifle the sound.

Amusement aside, this was perfect. He'd seen the nerdy one in the matches earlier. He'd won, sure, but he didn't seem too happy about it. This one had a conscience and the kind of friend who was willing to risk the guards and Weiss Schnee just to have a little fun with him.

Roman didn't want to interrupt because the last thing he needed was to get Weiss on his case, so he sought out Philip a little later, as soon as he was able to find him alone.

"Pardon me. You got a minute?"

He smiled-- a nice friendly smile, which he was capable of if he tried hard enough. Didn't want to scare him off right away.

That's right everyone, it's time for the Carnival Corpse! What does that mean? Well, gather around the holographic campfire of as we tell the tales of the Carnival Corpse. The event will go as follows!

All the inmates who are not deadmen will still be able to watch everything! We used to have it totally hush hush here in the prison, but hey- where's the fun in that? We have nothing to hide at all! And what'dya know, we actually get tons of sponsors for these sorts of shows from rich old men! Ha ha oh they're quite the riot. So! That means the ones who bid against these losers will be able to watch the show as well.

As for those participating? It's simple! Just attack the other one until they're dead or just knocked out- but hey we prefer the dead route, that's way more fun don't you think?

On with the show!
